After Macbeth, Musical Director Riccardo Chailly returns to Verdi with Un ballo in maschera, an opera marking unprecedented emotional and sensual heights for the composer. The new production is the work of Marco Arturo Marelli in his directorial debut at Teatro alla Scala. The quality of the cast is fundamental to the success of this title: the protagonist is Francesco Meli, who adds another portrait to his gallery of Verdi roles at La Scala, paired with a much awaited Sondra Radvanovsky, and Luca Salsi, preeminent Verdi baritone.
